The College of Integrative Studies (CIS) at Singapore Management University (SMU) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in Learning Analytics. The position is open to candidates with research expertise across the field of Learning Analytics, including but not limited to developing novel methods and techniques, exploring diverse applications, and investigating use and systems. Research that connects with SMU’s research focus areas in Digital Transformation, Sustainable Living, and Growth in Asia is particularly welcome, though not required. We are open to applicants at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor levels, and welcome applications from senior candidates. Strong candidates at the Associate or Full Professor levels will be considered for tenure upon appointment.
Established in 2022, CIS is home to a strong community of interdisciplinary scholars and plays a pivotal role in helping students traverse the disciplinary areas associated with the other SMU Schools—Accountancy, Business, Economics, Computing, Law, and Social Sciences. The CIS delivers the University’s Core Curriculum for all undergraduate students and offers a suite of programmes including Singapore’s first individualizable major at the undergraduate level, the interdisciplinary Master of Sustainability, and MPhil and PhD programmes in Asian Urbanisms.
The successful candidate will:
- Publish research in leading disciplinary and/or interdisciplinary journals. Although not required, faculty are encouraged to undertake or participate in interdisciplinary research.
- Successfully apply for competitive external research funding.
- Depending on rank, deliver between 1 to 3 sections per year of undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses. Teaching will be decided in consultation with the Dean/Associate Dean and likely include contributing to the Undergraduate Core Curriculum.
- Mentor undergraduate and/or postgraduate students in academic and academic-related affairs.
- Provide service to the College and University, including serving on committees, participating in events, outreach and admissions activities and, where appropriate, engaging with industry and other stakeholders.
